5 Paintball Films to Watch NOW!
One Night in November, Dynasty-Coming Home, FIFTEEN, Sunday Drivers, and Red Sunday
Paintball films have played an important role in telling the stories of teams since the early days of tournament paintball. I grew up being told by the older guys at the field what films I had to watch if I wanted to understand the sport. This often involved borrowing VHS tapes or huddling around a portable DVD player between games at the local field. I have attached a short list of five must-watch films in 2025. I am in the process of ranking my top 20 films for a later article, so to be clear this list is not a top five, but rather a pick five from the films I’ve watched recently. Feel free to send me your film lists! You can include them in ranking order or just a pick-5/10 format. I’d like to see the films that you think are worth sharing!

One Night in November - Pro Paintball with Chicago Aftershock
This film by Dan Napoli was incredible. Growing up in the midwest, I absolutely looked up to Chicago Aftershock and the blue collar ballers that made up their organization. As a fan, it had seemed as if Aftershock was constantly being picked apart and their stars moved on to a new team quite quickly. In 2010, Chicago Aftershock had a promising season going into the PSP World Cup. At cup, they fought hard to make the finals. For us young midwest fans, this appearance meant so much. Unfortunately for the team and it’s fans, Chicago Aftershock was shut out in a mercy rule beating by the Boston Red Legion. This film tells the story of the team the following season. All the turmoil comes to a head at NPPL Vegas at the end of the season. One Night in November also boasts one of my favorite paintball soundtracks of all time.

Dynasty- Coming Home
Coming Home is actually just the first installment of the season for the 2011 Artifact Series by Planet Eclipse. This episode includes Oliver Lang’s homecoming when he returned to San Diego Dynasty after his second stint with the LA Ironmen. It’s hard to explain to newer players just what Oliver Lang meant to the paintball community back then. He was the greatest in so many aspiring players' eyes. San Diego Dynasty has had an illustrious run at the top of the game since the team’s inception. Enjoy this 44 minute masterpiece!

FIFTEEN
FIFTEEN by Planet Eclipse tells the story of San Diego Dynasty throughout their rich history. The historical segment is brief, and the narrative turns to the team attempting to finish out their 15th pro season with an event win. The team had won at least one pro event every year for the last 14 seasons. The 2015 season saw the implosion of the premier tournament series; the PSP. A brand new league was started in the aftermath. Dynasty must salvage their season competing in the brand new NXL.

Sunday Drivers
Sunday Drivers is an absolute must-watch for paintball players. Legendary paintball filmmaker Patrick Spohrer The nostalgia watching this film in 2025 will hit you like a ton of bricks if you played or watched paintball during this era. Featured in this film is the iconic intro by Matty Marshall that will get you. If you need to get ready for a weekend of paintball, watch this friday night before heading to the field or with your squad after a team meeting. This film oozes culture.

Red Sunday
This film is technically another entry into the Artifact series by Planet Eclipse. It follows Omaha Vicious in their pursuit to make Sunday as a professional paintball team. Vicious had a tradition of having red long sleeves or jerseys made to wear on Sundays only. To them and their fanbase, these red jerseys meant everything. If you were not around paintball yet when Omaha Vicious was playing pro, you absolutely need to watch this film.

Well now I am going to go back and watch all of these. Homecoming was my favorite because it captured Oliver Lang’s transition out of the sport into an almost mythical figure.
Whew! Great start! Was worried that you missed the granddaddy of them all, but I see you are doing more than 5. I won't ruin it for those that may not know 🐒🔫😉
